Keys to Drive offers you the services you need in order to pass the road test.
We offer 6 hours of behind the wheel training in order to help you prepare for
the road test in the 6 months before your road test. You will learn necessary
skills for the road test in order to comply with the MVC. You will practice all
the items that will be on the road test, as follows:

Keys to Drive will work around your schedule in order to help making learning
to drive less of a hassle on you. We provide door to door service which means
we will pick you up in our car and drop you back off at no extra charge! You
can expect our cars to be dual-controlled, air-conditioned, clean, and well
maintained. Plus, Keys to Drive is currently the only driving school in the
area to have cars equipped with a backup camera, which is now allowed for the
test!

The MVC
requirements for 17-21 year old drivers:
The
young adult road
For drivers age 17 or older, MVC offers a
three-phase process:
á
Examination permit
á
Probationary license (minimum one year of restricted but
unsupervised driving)
á
Basic driver license (must be 18 years old)
Get an examination permit (not a student permit)
Applicants, age 17 but under age 18, must submit signed consent of a parent or
legal guardian to begin the permit process.
Visit an MVC Agency (may also be distributed by
a licensed driving instructor).
á
Pass the knowledge test. You can study by reading MVC's
Driver Manual
á
Pass the vision test
á
Pass the 6 point ID requirements
á
Pay fee
á
Permits are valid for two years and must be carried when operating
a vehicle
á
If your permit is lost
or stolen, you must request a duplicate permit
Practice supervised driving for at least six months
You must observe the following restrictions
during the supervised driving phase:

Display a reflectorized
decal on each license plate (front/back); decals available at
motor vehicle agencies, $4 per pair
á
No driving after 11:01 p.m. and before 5:00 a.m.
á
You must be accompanied in the front seat by an adult supervising
driver who is at least 21 years of age and who possesses a valid New Jersey
driver license and has a minimum of three years driving experience
á
Parent(s), guardian(s) or dependant(s)
are allowed as passengers. A dependant is a permit or
probationary driver's child, not siblings
á
Only one additional passenger is allowed unless accompanied by a
parent or guardian
á
You can't use cell phones, hand held video games or any other
hands-free interactive, wireless communication device
á
Seat belts must be worn at all times
á

Get a probationary license

Complete the supervised driving period
á
Pass MVC's road test
Practice unsupervised driving for at least one year
You must observe the following requirements and
restrictions while driving with a probationary (formerly provisional) license:
